GoFundMe takes down Vaccine rights lawyer fundraiser

UPDATE (09-15-2019): vaccine rights lawyer Alan Phillips spent a total of 72 days in jail for refusing to turn over private client records.

UPDATE (06-15-2019): vaccine rights lawyer Alan Phillips has been jailed. The Ohio Advocates for Medical Freedom provide the best detailed background on Alan’s situation that I have seen.

GoFundMe removed Alan Phillips’ Legal Defense Fund page claiming it violated their policies. He is a nationally recognized expert and presenter on vaccine policy and law, and is the nation’s only attorney whose practice is focused solely on vaccine exemptions and legislative activism.

MSN published an article about this…

called GoFundMe Bans Anti-Vaxxers Who Raise Money to Spread Misinformation. For better background and analysis of why Alan is being attacked, read this Age of Autism article.

GoFundMe has ignored my email requests for an explanation about what policy did he explicitly violate:

We rescued the Alan’s fundraiser page from Google’s cache before Google had a chance to delete it. The fundraiser page doesn’t work; we are keeping it for the historical record. Alan has since created a new fundraising page here.

UPDATE 04/23/2019, 9:41pm EST: Alan commented via email that “The fact that they took the site down without informing me of the claim that it was ‘disinformation’ and giving me an opportunity to respond speaks volumes” and that he has “documentary proof of my claims that the public can check for themselves, while of course the claim that my information is ‘disinformation’ is an unsupported lie.”
